RICHARD FOOT

I'm truely invested when it comes to the world of Craft and Makers. With a passion for craftsmanship and having been working in the sector for over a decade, I've dedicated myself to showcasing the fascinating stories behind these talented individuals.

Welcome to #CRAFT🧡, a new chapter in my creative journey!

My fascination with the world of Craft was ignited through my sister, Helen Foot, a talented woven textile designer. On visits to her whilst she was studying at the Royal College of Art and in assisting her at various Craft Shows, I was struck by the number of talented Makers and their beautiful creations.

An opportunity presented itself through the Crafts Councils Hothouse scheme, in which my sister participated in 2011. Together with my friend Arron, we produced a film featuring Helen for the open film submission for The Power of Making exhibition, held at the prestigious V&A in London.

This marked the birth of R&A Collaborations, a venture that has spanned over a decade, during which we crafted short films of makers in their studios, sharing their stories and promoting their incredible work. Our adventures took us across the United Kingdom and beyond, London, Paris, Milan and Goole, immersing us in the vibrant world of Craft Makers.

However as 2023 unfolded, change beckoned, and the time came for R&A Collaborations to conclude. From this point, my new solo venture, #CRAFT🧡, was born.

While #CRAFT🧡 follows a similar path to my previous endeavours, it introduces an exciting array of new things. Alongside photography of makers in their studios, I will also be introducing shorter 'Story Reels' tailored for Instagram, delivering short visual narratives that celebrate Maker's Crafts.

But that's not all! I will also be organising Creatives Retreats in partnership with Hayley Banks. These retreats provide a unique opportunity for Creatives and Makers to come together, immerse themselves with other creative people, and relax and unwind in fantastic scenery. For more detailed information, please visit the Retreats page.

You can watch R&A Collaborations archive of films on their Craft Journeys Youtube.
